Geraldine Franklin

Geraldine's environment is relevant to her work, whether it be roaming around docklands light railway, wondering along by the river Thames, or idling in a nearby park. She may take photographs or sketches and work from these, or find objects, such as a rusty bike and use this as a source of inspiration.

Sometimes the pictures allude to something, invariably they are not representational. 'Nature does this far better than I.' Geraldine's influences are Raoul Dufy, Fernand Leger, Braque, Tapies, Matisse, Picasso and Paul Klee. Geraldine Franklin trained at North Staffordshire University, and then Goldsmiths' College. Worked with a diverse group of people in different establishments as an Art Teacher and Art Therapist as well as making time for my art and raise a family.
